MARK WADE -ARTIST INFORMATION

We warmly invite you to the "Emerald Collection" of ceramic pottery
by Mark Wade. Mark is from Southern California and has been a
potter and sculptor for eighteen years. After many years and much
persistence Mark Wade has finally developed his own signature glaze
recipes. The glazes he uses contain ashes from certain trees found
in Southern California. He takes ashes from the burned Almond, Avocado,
Eucalyptus, Manzanita, Orange and Pine trees. Mark then mixes it
directly into the signature glazes. Every piece is unique in its own
way as he achieves the design you see. However, the glaze is controlled
by the kiln in a more natural process. When the kiln reaches 2160
degrees the glazes reach maturity and that is when the beauty begins.
At this point the ashes melt and the colors are released, forming into
the glaze as the piece cools. Every piece is signed and dated by
Mark Wade.
