J0SHUA DEAN WILEY - ARTIST INFORMATION
Joshua Wiley is a contemporary fine artist and has always
been interested
in art and its ability to convey thoughts and
emotions through
imagery. Joshua creates intriguing images
through rhythm,
form and repetition. His artwork, inspired
by his world,includes simple abstract designs and
vivacious
abstracts
stimulated by the power of the great urban
desert of
Phoenix.
He is a graduate from Coe College
in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a B.A. in
Printmaking and Photography. He decided to start his art career in
Arizona.

Joshua Wiley
works in a creative style that ranges from traditional to
contemporary and most recently abstract
paintings. His reverse
paintings on plexiglass are mixed media with
extraordinary texture
and luminous colors. His pieces are stellar in
design, style and creativity.
Joshua strives to evoke an emotional interaction
between the viewer
and the art with his stellar designs. Whether it is an inviting landscape
that
can take you on a journey or a contemporary abstract that consists
of multiple
visual layers and textures, Joshua hopes the viewer can take
something
meaningful away from the experience. Joshua paints with a
prolific range of
styles. This creative force is driven by his desire to
explore a whole variety of mediums.
Each of his pieces are painted with
a myriad of layers, creating texture, color
and movement, conveying
images, emotions and the layers of everyday life. He paints his world with
elemental earth tones and metallic's; iron oxide,
chromium oxide, silver
and gold. He continues to push the boundaries of
presentation and the
merging of mediums to create sculptural art forms with
acrylic, steel,
canvas and wood. His work can be seen in fine galleries
throughout
Arizona and elsewhere in the nation.
Joshua encourages the viewer to look closely at the variety
of layers,
textures and colors he has created. He wants them to lead you into an
appreciation of the hidden details in the world around you.
